Position: Staff Accountant
Department: Accounting
Location: Towne Properties Carolina Regional Office, Raleigh, NC
Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
What We Are Looking For:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable processes, and financial reconciliation.
- Advanced math skills for calculating ratios, percentages, and projections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software (Yardi preferred).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with leadership skills for team support and training.
- Willingness to submit to a drug and background check if offered this position.
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Provide training, guidance, and problem-solving support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
- Assist Association Managers in resolving owners' financial issues and answering inquiries.
- Oversee the processing of payables and serve as a backup for the Accounts Payable Specialists.
- Reconcile operating and reserve bank accounts for multiple associations.
- Record miscellaneous income deposits and handle recurring journal entries for associations.
- Review financial reports for accuracy with Senior Staff Accountants before releasing them to Association Managers.
- Prepare and process community charges for postage, copies, storage, credit card charges, and supplies on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate on special projects, both independently and within a team.
- Review attorney invoices for collections and ensure timely payment.
- Assist in corresponding with Collections Attorneys to ensure timely communication and accurate documentation.
