Our client is currently looking for a Temp to Perm Staff Accountant to join the team. The client thinks the contract will last about 3-6 months before conversion.
Client Details
The client is a long standing Nonprofit Organization located in Yonkers. This role starts out 5 days on site and can become more hybrid after 90 days.
Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process monthly general ledger closing, prepare adjusting journal entries, and update all monthly work papers, including fixed asset and depreciation, insurance expense, and other accrued expenses
Reconcile intercompany accounts for all partnerships
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare annual operating budgets and perform variance analysis monthly
Prepare quarterly (or monthly) required financial and other reporting packages
Prepare monthly grant contract voucher reimbursements, including review of all supporting documents, and prepare adjusting journal entries. Ensure costs allocated are appropriate to the contract.
Monitor expenditures against budgets and prepare budget modifications as needed. Track all payments.
Support Accounting Manager in all grant analysis projects, including new funding applications and other ad hoc projects as needed.
Other duties as assigned
Profile
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
3-4 years of related experience with grant, property management and/or non-profit accounting
Demonstrative knowledge of accounting theory and principles
Strong Excel skills
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently
Capability to work in a faced paced environment
Excellent communication skills
