GMB is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our busy team. The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of both accounting theory and practices. Duties

Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Monitor, review, and post accurate timesheet records
  • Manage PTO accrual, usage, adjustments, and payouts in accordance with Office Policy
  • Process personnel changes and maintain payroll database and related documentation
  • Maintain integrations between payroll and general ledger systems
  • Process biweekly payroll, tax payments, elective deferrals, and Third-Party Sick Pay
  • Prepare and analyze cyclical payroll reports; triage and respond to notices and escalate as necessary
  • Ensure employee enrollment data is accurate across multiple platforms for a variety of employee benefits, including 401(K)/Roth, Health, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Dependent Care, and others
  • Manage annual workers compensation audit
  • Perform routine retirement plan administrative functions, including recordkeeping, compliance, RMD's, profit sharing, and other transactions
  • Provide administrative support to the Retirement Plan Committee, including assisting with annual 401(k) and profit-sharing plan review and field work and preparation and submission of annual retirement plan census and compliance questionnaire
  • Track and process benefit invoices; routinely coordinate with Management and third-party vendors
  • Assist with review and response to unemployment claims, workers compensation claims, and employment verification requests
  • Assist with preparation of various on-demand statutory and statistical reports
  • Assist with preparation of annual compensation and benefit letters for staff
  • Assist with preparation of annual pay and holiday calendars
  • Assignment of security roles, login credentials and dashboards for accounting system users
  • Assist with Time & Expense training and support
  • Ensure HR policies are accurately reflected and updated in our systems
  • Routinely coordinate with Management and third-party vendors

Other Key Responsibilities
  • Process client invoices, statements, retainers, and refunds, and assist with collection of outstanding receivables as requested
  • Process routine Member and Associate disbursements
  • Manage employee expense processes and verify internal controls for outgoing payments, including petty cash
  • Code, record, track and process invoices from consultants and vendors
  • Verify and reconcile errors to maintain accurate accounting records and data integrity
  • Assist with analysis of general ledger accounts, preparation of routine financial reports, and other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, or combined education and experience
  • Strong experience with outsourced, multi-state payroll and 401(K) retirement plans in a TPA environment preferred
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, Deltek Vision (ERP), Ascensus (TPA), municipal service contracts, and the A/E industry is a plus
