Our client, based in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. Job Description:

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with various tasks, including preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, and managing balance sheet accounts. You will work closely with the Accounting Supervisor to ensure smooth monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely completion.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Record cash receipts and complete bank reconciliations.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and provide insightful analysis.
  • Organize and reconcile intercompany transactions with affiliates.
  • Assist with the processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Prepare documentation and assigned items for external audits.
  • Perform additional general accounting tasks as directed by the Accounting Supervisor.
  • Contribute to special projects as needed, including process improvements and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field, seeking career advancement.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: 2 - 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting roles (healthcare industry experience is a plus).
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
    • Ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets.
    • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
