The School of Accountancy in the Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University seeks candidates for the Director at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor. This is an annual tenured appointment. The position begins July 25, 2025. The School of Accountancy offers an MSA and BSBA in accounting in both a face to face and online environment. Both the Strome College of Business and the School of Accountancy are AACSB accredited.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Ph.D. degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited university or international equivalent Research record that meets requirements for appointment at the rank of Professor or Associate Professor.
2. A record of successful teaching, both online and face-to-face.
3. A record of successful leadership in an academic school, department, center, institute, program, or similar entity.
4. Evidence of successful engagement with both the professional and local business communities as value-adding partnerships.
5. Experience with AACSB accounting accreditation process and compliance with accreditation reporting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CMA, etc.)
• Prior professional work experience in accounting or an accounting related field. • Evidence of participation in fundraising activities.
