CV Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets to join our client's exceptional finance team in Boise! Our client is committed to excellence in financial operations and innovation, and we need a skilled individual to support their ongoing initiatives in fixed asset management, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance team with responsibilities that include supporting fixed assets, managing sales and property tax compliance, assisting in the implementation of a new fixed asset software, and participating in financial statement review processes. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of GAAP, experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, and is comfortable navigating both routine and complex accounting tasks.

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance team with responsibilities that include supporting fixed assets, managing sales and property tax compliance, assisting in the implementation of a new fixed asset software, and participating in financial statement review processes. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of GAAP, experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, and is comfortable navigating both routine and complex accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fixed Asset Management:
- Maintain and manage fixed asset records, including capitalization, disposals, and transfers.
- Support the implementation of a new fixed asset software system to improve reporting and data accuracy.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review sales tax returns, ensuring timely filing and adherence to state and local requirements.
- Assist with property tax filings and compliance to meet regulatory deadlines.
- Collaborate with external tax consultants as necessary to optimize tax reporting processes.
- Lease Accounting (ASC 842):
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of lease accounting under ASC 842.
- Ensure accurate and compliant reporting of lease-related assets and liabilities.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review and analyze financial statements, supporting the senior accounting team with variance analysis and other financial reviews.
- Contribute to audits by preparing required schedules and supporting documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong experience with fixed asset management and familiarity with fixed asset software systems.
- Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
- Proficiency in sales and property tax reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
