The University of Minnesota invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department at the Carlson School of Management. The appointment will begin August 2025. The Accounting Faculty values intellectual and disciplinary diversity, collaboration, rigorous and inspiring research, strong scholarly ethics, and mutual respect. We seek an extraordinary colleague who will publish world-class scholarly research, effectively teach business-school courses at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels, and actively develop doctoral students.
Faculty will be responsible for carrying out the teaching, research, and service mission of the department. Teaching assignments will be either at the undergraduate or graduate level. There is also the expectation of advising at the PhD level. On the research mission, faculty are expected to develop and maintain a research stream that will contribute to the accounting discipline. Finally, the faculty is expected to serve on department and collegiate committees.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in accounting or a related discipline from a recognized research university. We encourage applications from candidates who are close to completion of a doctoral degree.

Candidates must demonstrate potential for teaching and research excellence, including publications in high-quality journals in accounting and related fields, and a strong commitment to serve the department, the school, and the profession.
