We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to take charge of our month-end close process and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise, keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities including overseeing the accounting cycle, supervising the accounting department, streamlining procedures, and collaborating with all departments to ensure accuracy of financial results and adherence to company policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor bank account activity daily
- Review, analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries
- Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial records
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements in a timely fashion
- Assist with preparation of annual budget
- Analyze monthly costs and report variances to senior management
- Process biweekly payroll and monthly commissions through ADP
- Supervise and conduct performance reviews for AP/AR staff
- Coordinate with external accountant to provide necessary information for tax preparation
- Interpret financial results to provide insights and recommendations to management
- Assess and improve accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position is responsible for supervising a team of three accounting staff members.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience with a focus on month-end close and financial reporting
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel including knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and organizing effectively and independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company and employee information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ADP is a plus
- Familiarity with Karmak Fusion software is a plus
