Job Overview:
As a Staff Accountant, you ensure proper efficiencies applicable to accounting practices and processes for the Corporate Accountant department as well as work closely with other team members within the department and the company to obtain and/or provide timely financial information. Here are the roles you will play:
Roles You Will Play:
The Creator
Prepare journal entries
Prepare bank reconciliations monthly, ensuring up-to-date and accurate cash balances for assigned bank accounts
Generate billings for both internal and external customers
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper reports/documents are provided as needed to support the account balances
Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met
The Inspector
Ensure invoices are entered accurately into the accounts payable system
The Right Hand
Assist in audits and year-end reporting to ensure compliance with all regulations.
Stay current with accounting regulations and ensure accounting practices adhere to relevant standards
Other ad hoc analyses, reports and projects as needed by management
Building Blocks of Success:
Solid 1+ years of experience in Corporate, Manufacturing, or Construction accounting and demonstrated understanding of GAAP
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Superior interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to manage cross-functional relationships within the organization
Expert time-management, prioritization and multitasking skills; ability to quickly adapt to an often-changing and rapid-paced work environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to perform multiple assignments without immediate supervision
