Position Title:
Junior Accountant
Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst maintains accounting records and ensures that financial transactions are properly
recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts
to the general ledger. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Produce trial balances, prepare variance reports and reconcile general ledger accounts for the
funds managed by the organization. May provide support and assistance to external auditors.
Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledgers (such as fixed
assets, accounts receivable and payable agings) to the general ledger. Prepare and enter journal
entries according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Consolidate and group accounts
and entries to be utilized in financial statements.
Perform account analysis and balance sheet reviews/reconciliation for the organization and its subsidiaries.
Reconcile the various company statements and investment accounts to the general ledger. Prepares
monthly consolidated cash activity report.
Develop recurring reports and analytics for business segments. Provide support in the
preparation of ad hoc analysis and special project requests.
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Maintain accounting records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree plus at least four years related experience; or at least eight years related
experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree in accounting desired.
3 years of accounting experience.
2 years of customer service experience.
2 years of financial accounting software and reporting experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of accounting theory and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP).
Ability to identify research and resolve/reconcile accounting discrepancies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, data analysis and math skills.
Excel skills for manipulation and analysis of data.
Strong customer focus.
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and remain organized.
Word and PowerPoint skills.
Ability to develop and build effective business relationships and be a team player.
Ability to coordinate work among different business groups.
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
