A Day In The Life
Perform tax compliance work and research of S and C Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, Not-for-Profit Organizations, and Individuals. The primary responsibilities will include Federal and State Income and Franchise Tax.

As a Accountant Sr, Tax you will:
  • Compliance preparation and review of federal and state income and franchise tax returns for all affiliated companies including: Gathering and analyzing financial information and tax rules to calculate tax adjustments Reading tax form instructions to ensure that all information is reported correctly. Preparing supporting work papers and maintaining tax files Preparing tax returns Reviewing tax returns Downloading computerized general ledger information into Excel spreadsheets and converting the data in the files into the form necessary to transfer data to tax return preparation software Processing tax return
  • Prepare data requests for third party providers and analyze tax items for reporting
  • Communicate and coordinate with accounting personnel / controllers to resolve any questions or issues that arise through data analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly taxable income estimates (federal and state) and year -end basis calculations for all companies.
  • Research issues relating to taxation of the various entities and shareholders.
  • Assistance with annual and quarterly ASC 740 tax provision, including gathering and analyzing source data.
  • Assist accountants in the review of categorization and coordination of unique transactions.
  • Assist with various special projects. Correspond to tax authorities concerning notices.
  • Assist with the detail review of items prepared by Tax Accountants.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from four-year College or university Req
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
  • Experience in One Source tax software Preferred
  • Significant experience with the preparation of various tax returns and ready to begin detail review Preferred
  • Insurance industry and ASC 740 experience Preferred
  • Achievement oriented and self-motivated.
  • Capability to coordinate several projects simultaneously and accept a significant amount of responsibility.

  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress towards passing exam Preferred

Physical and Environmental Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
