Clayton Services is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a thriving company in West Houston.
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $75,000-$100,000/year, depending on experience

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and refining internal accounting practices and procedures.
Manage customer accounts and oversee accounts receivable collections.
Maintain clear, professional communication with external partners, management, and team members.
Ensure compliance with timely and accurate state tax filings.
Verify and ensure proper allocation of invoice payments within the accounting system.
Perform general accounting duties and assist in the overall cost accounting process.
Oversee and execute the process for expense management, including invoice verification and data input.
Handle the processing of weekly vendor and supplier payments.
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
Review purchase orders, pricing, and terms to ensure alignment with invoices.
Set up new accounts, code invoices, and contribute to monthly financial close activities.
Support the reconciliation of ledgers and weekly financial statements.
Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address any discrepancies or bank inquiries.
Participate in cross-training efforts to gain exposure to various stages of the accounting cycle.
Manage reimbursement processes through a designated expense platform.
Oversee accounts payable functions for multiple entities, ensuring adherence to payment schedules and internal guidelines.
Contribute to month-end financial close by reviewing accounts and preparing necessary adjustments or journal entries.
Uphold confidentiality and protect sensitive company financial data.
Other duties as assigned.

Senior Accountant Education and Experience:
A minimum of five years of accounting experience, preferably in a complex accounting environment with multiple companies and entities
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in account; a master's is preferred.
Previous financial reporting experience is required.
