Salary: Starting $70,000 w/ bonus

Staff Accountant Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports in compliance with GAAP. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and providing timely, accurate data for decision-making.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing requested documentation and ensuring timely resolution of audit issues.
  • Assist with SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and other required filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting operations and reporting efficiency.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations that may impact the organization.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a publicly traded company or in public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
