Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team and lead data-driven initiatives in the public sector. The Senior Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data to support informed operational decision-making. This position involves optimizing statistical efficiency, improving reporting systems, and mentoring junior analysts.
In addition to managing and improving data collection methodologies, the Senior Data Analyst will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, provide consulting services to leadership, and support the development of best practices. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical background, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of public sector data needs and federal grant-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies for data collection and analysis, optimizing statistical efficiency and ensuring data quality.
Manage and enhance existing reporting systems, performing complex analyses to improve operational insights and decision-making.
Mentor and train less-experienced analysts, providing technical support and guidance in data analysis best practices.
Conduct and facilitate analysis, risk assessment, and issue identification to support decision-making processes.
Provide analytical and consulting services to leadership, assisting in the interpretation of key data points for strategic planning.
Define and implement data collection methodologies, develop data models, and ensure consistent data management practices.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders, building relationships to support research planning, implementation, and evaluation efforts.
Demonstrate working knowledge of federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration to ensure compliance in data collection and reporting.
Required Qualifications
At least 7 years of professional experience in data analysis, including developing and managing data collection systems, performing complex analyses, and improving reporting processes.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
Proficient in statistical analysis, data modeling, and data collection methodologies. Strong command of data analysis tools and techniques.
Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, as well as collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of attention to detail and logical thinking in all data-related tasks.
Substitution Criteria
10 years of professional experience in data analysis, including planning, conducting, and managing complex data-driven projects.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
