The Digital Technology Services (DTS) Senior Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data, reporting results and indirect oversight of team members and their projects across the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) network. Creates timely and actionable data insights that create awareness and provide decision support to lead process improvement efforts to optimize patient outcomes.

This is mostly a remote position, the in-person requirement is once per quarter in Edison, NJ. We are looking for a candidate that has SQL expertise and claims expertise.

Responsibilities:
A day in the life of a Digital Technology Services (DTS) Senior Data Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

Provides leadership and mentoring for projects and data analysts.

Serves as the organization-wide content expert on clinical measurement/analysis methods and imparts relevant details to senior leaders and quality team members. Continually expands/updates this knowledge.

Understands and communicates the business impacts of data findings.

Identifies data problems, assists in researching solutions, and recommending corrective actions to achieve higher levels of integrity and efficiency.

Oversees individual data projects from start to finish.

Writes queries for research and other requests.

Provides expertise and translates the business needs to design; and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.

Creates interactive and actionable reports of performance including deviations and anomalies.

Meets with end users to gather data analysis requirements to deliver accurate results.

Liaises with business leaders to explain the possibilities and limitations of data analysis.

Contributes to written reports and presentation materials describing project or task objectives, methods, data, and results.

Works with organizational stakeholders to define benchmarks.

Retrieves and creates benchmarks.

Troubleshoots issues and new requests that require ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) builds or modifications.

Supports end users on functionality and navigation of reports and information.

Ensures data accuracy through validation and transparency.

Supports governance, maintains and adds measures, flags and cohorts to the data catalog.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's degree in data science or related field, and/or applicable advanced technical certificate, and/or four (4) plus years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in healthcare/clinical analytics.

Strong data science skills using tools like SQL, R, Python, or SAS.

Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex analysis and make recommendations based on statistical inferences. Experience with a wide variety of analytical or statistical methods.

Strong ability to mentor and lead team members.

Strong ability to project manage.

Working knowledge of Business Intelligence products (i.e. Looker, Tableau, QLik, etc.).

Excellent oral, writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with varying audiences.

Demonstrated ability to articulate goals, plan and implement processes to achieve those goals, recognize and assess the implications of confounding variables.

Independent working ability with strong time management skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

Experience with Epic Clarity and Caboodle.

A Master's degree in data science or related field.
