Bane Machinery has an immediate need for a reliable, experienced Senior Accountant.
This position is intended to be a Full-Time position, but some flexibility to Part Time hours (less than 40) may be considered for the right candidate.
As our Senior Accountant, reporting to the CFO, you will be an essential part of our dynamic financial team, taking ownership of key financial operations that directly impact our organization's success. You'll manage complex financial records, prepare detailed financial statements, and provide in-depth financial analysis to guide critical business decisions. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the financial health of the company while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting principles. You'll also manage our Accounts Payable Associate, contributing to their growth while advancing your leadership skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and exceptional analytical skills. This role requires an extremely detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities independently and collaboratively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the General Ledger accounting activities including journal entries, monthly accruals, account reconciliations and take a leading role in monthly closing
Prepare Monthly Financial Statements
Manage Accounts Payable and support with daily cash management and bank transactions
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Calculate and prepare commission reports, and the reporting of state and county taxes
Be the key contact for outside Accountants who conduct annual Financial Reviews, and who also prepare official annual Financial Statements and our Tax Returns
Participate in special projects as assigned, such as financial process redesigns
Assists in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by CFO
Guide or review the work of Accounts Payable Associate
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and accounting software programs.
Familiarity with Excel Power Query is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
