Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:
- Prepare and oversee financial statements, budgets, and reports in accordance with GAAP and non-profit regulations.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliations.
- Monitor grant management and compliance, including reporting to funders and stakeholders.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in annual audits and prepare necessary documentation for auditors.
- Collaborate with program managers to provide financial insights and support budgeting efforts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or similar certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
