Responsibilities for payroll accountant
  • Extensive work within Excel- Pivot Tables,Vlookups
  • Responsible for the coordination efforts between payroll, human resources, budget and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, labor" home" work, overtime, leave balances, head count, and retirement contribution reports)
  • Analyzes payroll accounting and processing data
  • Prepares, reviews, and processes pay adjustments, deductions, payroll process steps, and special payments.
  • Researches payroll and pay rule information.
  • Completion of payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations at month-end in accordance with SOX 404 compliance requirements and pro-active investigation of reconciling items on the reconciliation
  • Support the Financial Accounting and Payroll Managers with monthly BS and PL reviews.
  • Processing Bi-weekly and Semi-Monthly Payroll 350+ Employees
  • Responsible for all payroll tax accounting including compliance with local state and federal regulations and filing local state and federal tax returns and or deposits
  • Prepares and files tax reports gathers payroll data for inclusion in financial statements researches and prepares special reports for management calculates and processes garnishments and tax levies voluntary deductions.

Qualifications for payroll accountant
  • Maintain FSA accounts, including billing and bank reconciliations
  • CPP and BS or BA degree preferred
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, energized, self-starter environment
  • Prepare and maintain inter-company billing for submission to accounting

  • Perform research and analysis of tax variances and make appropriate adjustments
