Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepare and input recurring and special journal entries.
Determine the accuracy of accounting classifications assigned to various transactions (customer invoices, vendor invoices, and journal entries) as they relate to operating revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities in areas of responsibility.
Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, primarily for analysis of customer and/or general ledger accounts.
Cooperate with auditors of public accounting firm retained to audit accounting procedures and records, with emphasis on items in areas assigned.
Compile data for and prepare or assist with regularly scheduled and special accounting reports and analyses.
Meet established deadlines with regard to processing of journal entries for the monthly.
Interface with personnel from other departments regarding the coordination of routine accounting issues on a regular basis.
Participate and assist with special projects as assigned.
Skills:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Ability to work with computerized accounting systems.
Good understanding of PC software and systems.
Excellent oral and written skills are required for dealing with customers, staff from various departments, various consultants, and external accounting firms.
Ability to analyze basic accounting records and financial reports.
Ability to establish daily work priorities and perform recurring tasks for monthly closings and various analyses.
Ability to make decisions on recurring day-to-day transactions.
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical field preferred
