Overview:
The Senior Staff Accountant I at Burlington Stores, Inc. will be the Oracle Project Accounting Administrator and responsible for managing the Oracle Project Accounting functions, including the setup of projects, assisting with uploading Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs), cost budgets, and board-approved plans. This role involves maintaining corporate-wide reporting through Noetix and Cognos BI, including creating, updating, and supporting financial reports.
A Day In The Life:
Administer Oracle Project Accounting, setting up projects and assisting with CERs, cost budgets, and board-approved plans.
Assist the Fixed Assets team with the monthly close, including accrual reviews, account analysis, and ensuring data integrity.
Prepare monthly forecast files and guide employees from various functional areas in uploading forecasts.
Provide reporting to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and assist with Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Committee requests.
Create and maintain financial reports in Noetix and Cognos BI, providing support to ensure users can meet monthly requirements.
Perform monthly close and analysis for Captive Insurance, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and related reports.
Investigate variances and analyze key drivers, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Prepare supporting schedules, work papers, and documentation for the month-end close process.
Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from internal business partners and external auditors.
You'll Come With:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with Noetix report writing and custom views (preferred).
Experience with Cognos Business Intelligence (BI) reporting (preferred).
Familiarity with Oracle Financials (preferred).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
