The Senior Accountant/Controller is a key financial leader responsible for managing and overseeing the organization's financial activities. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial records and supports strategic decision-making by providing vital financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee cash management, monitor cash balances, and develop accurate cash forecasts.

Lead, plan, and coordinate all accounting operations.

Prepare comprehensive internal and external financial statements.

Evaluate current accounting practices, recommend process improvements, and implement new systems for increased efficiency.

Track and assess business performance metrics to drive financial success.

Compile, analyze, and present monthly financial reports.

Develop and manage monthly and annual budgets/forecasts.

Oversee accounts receivable and payable operations.

Manage payroll processes and ensure accurate, timely payroll completion.

Ensure timely completion of monthly bank reconciliations.

Document and maintain accounting procedures, covering reconciliations, month-end closing, billing, collections, payments, and payroll.

Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Process (WIP) reports and billings.

Contribute to the company's strategic planning efforts.

Provide financial data and insights to support executive decision-making.

Qualifications:

Experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of construction-specific accounting principles, regulations, and financial management practices.

Expertise in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.

Proficiency in financial and construction management software (Work-in-Process software and Progress Billing experience preferred).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate financial data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong active listening abilities.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Meticulous attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Education:

Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
