Systems Planning and Analysis is searching for a Payroll Labor Accountant. The Company is experiencing a high rate of growth and needs a leader to come and create scalable processes for a larger organization. This role requires excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as well as experience managing a team of individuals.
Responsibilities:
Expected Contributions and Responsibilities
Manage compliance of all Payroll and Timekeeping with GAAP, CAS, and the FAR
Manage the maintenance and documentation of proper controls and policies related to timekeeping and payroll with the Controller
Manage the bi-monthly payroll functions including full execution of the payroll and related processes, as well as experience in a company with multiple states as well as international payroll
Ensure employee payroll records are accurately maintained in the respective systems
Assist with the completion of the annual Incurred Cost Submission and own Schedule L
Assist in the annual budget process and provide support as necessary
Ensure all audit requests are provided timely and accurately from the Payroll team
Review and maintain the monthly reconciliation of all respective general ledger accounts and resolve variances timely
Manage a team of individuals with varied backgrounds to optimal performance
Perform account research and ad-hoc accounting/reporting/administrative tasks
Collaborate with the HR team to manage the annual 401K audit from a Payroll perspective
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
10+ years Accounting experience, including managing others
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Government contracting and Deltek Costpoint experience
Knowledge of GAAP, CAS, FAR and control understanding
Strong organizational, prioritization skills, and attention to detail
Actively focuses on team development and growth
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate high level of integrity, professionalism including teamwork
Ability to effectively plan, work well under pressure and short deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong problem solving, research, and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a collaborative environment
