Overview:
THE ROLE:
Fixed Asset Accountant will provide support to the General Accounting Supervisor in the accounting/reporting area. Directly responsible for plant fixed asset accounting and other general accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Performs SOX and operational compliance testing and reporting.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Maintain Fixed Asset subsidiary ledger, account reconciliation.
• Adhere to corporate policy for capitalizing equipment purchases and other construction in progress activities
• Prepare monthly fixed asset roll forward reconciliation
• Complete government required reporting as necessary
• Participate in Budget, forecast and monthly reporting activities.
• Assist in process and system upgrades and enhancements
• Interacts with other departments, such as Corporate Accounting, IT, Purchasing and Quality
• Prepares special reports and assists in special projects as assigned by Management
• Demonstrates initiative in all aspects of Plant Accounting
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet department goals
• Communicates effectively and clearly in verbal and written form
• Other account reconciliations as assigned.
• Performs quarterly SOX and operational compliance testing and remediation as necessary
• Any other projects or tasks as assigned

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Skills:
• Ability to address practical problems and handle a variety of variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the
business community
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to prioritize workload and multitask to meet deadlines
• Carry out responsibilities with general supervision
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
• Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
• Strong team player and strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial data.
• Proficient PC skills including MS Windows, Excel and Word
Experience:
• 3+ years accounting experience
• 3+ years prior fixed asset accounting experience
Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience in Oracle
