POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Sr. Reporting Accountant will be involved in a variety of financial accounting, internal and external financial reporting.
Reports to: Assistant Controller
Works Closely with: OPKO Health, Inc. staff and its Subsidiaries

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual analyses to support financial reporting including but not limited to revenue and operating expenses analyses and management performance reports
• Responsible for the internal reporting presentations to management
• Prepare overall analytics and provide explanations above the scope or unusual and/or inconsistent trends
• Review overall analytics for the international subsidiaries
• Prepare work papers and documentary evidence developed in support of the SEC fillings
• Assist in the preparation and drafting of SEC forms (10Q, 10K)
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Assist and support the internal and external audit and quarterly review process by resolving questions and providing requested schedules in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date process documentation, recommending and implementing process improvements, as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline efforts
• Other special projects as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; previous general accounting experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to plan and organize, strong communication and problem solving skills
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Word, experience with ERP system (MAS 500 preferred).
• Proven professional experience in accounting and automated financial reporting systems.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
