Job Ad Title: Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Accounting

The School of Management and Economics (SME) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) is seeking application for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all levels starting in Fall of 2025. The successful candidates for tenure-track position should be excellent in producing high profile scholarly research and delivering creative and effective teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The hired candidates are expected to do research and teaching in accounting areas.

CUHK-Shenzhen is established in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools upon approval of the Ministry of Education. It inherits the educational philosophy and academic systems of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is intended to evolve into a world class research university with strong Chinese cultural influence. JOB QUALIFICATION: Positions require a Ph.D. degree (granted upon assuming the reporting duty) in Accounting or a related field. Candidates for tenure-track positions must exhibit the potential to publish in top-tier academic journals and require a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching. Applicants for the Associate Professor or higher positions are expected to demonstrate a strong research record and leadership abilities in the field.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Selected candidates for tenure-track positions develop their own research with support provided by the university. They are subject to tenure evaluation over a six-year period. The teaching format consists of either a single 3-hour session or two 1.5-hour sessions. These sessions are typically delivered during weekday daytime hours. However, some undergraduate or graduate courses may be delivered in the evenings or on weekends.

SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE: Salary will be competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK-Shenzhen and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable to the PRC. The appointee will be based in Shenzhen, PRC.
