You will be responsible for general and specific accounting tasks, with an emphasis on payroll processing for a bi-weekly payroll with 200+ employees. This role requires an in-depth understanding of Payroll & Benefits systems, processes, and legislative rules. Initially, the responsibilities will focus on general accounting, with emphasis on payroll. The goal will be to expand your responsibilities into broader financial and operations with time.
Responsibilities
Partner with members of the People team to ensure timely and accurate processing of biweekly payrolls consisting of 200+ US and Canadian employees, including full time exempt and some part time non-exempt employees
Audit data entry such as new hire compensation, rate changes, tax filing changes, employee information changes, and all other miscellaneous payroll system entries
Create and post payroll-related journal entries to Lightmatter's ERP, including compensation, expense, and accruals
Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner
Manage various state and federal tax filing portals, including registrations and updates
Perform other monthly accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliation, etc.
Assist with Month End Close and other finance and accounting projects
Assist in audits performed by internal and/or external auditors
Ad hoc projects in either payroll or accounting as required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5 years of cumulative experience in payroll processing and general ledger accounting
System experience with NetSuite is required
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and proficient with Google Suite
Self-starter, works autonomously while also contributing as part of a collaborative team
Strong written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Start-up experience in the semiconductor/hardware industry
Rippling payroll experience
Experience with Zip or similar procurement platforms

We offer competitive compensation. The base salary range for this role, inclusive of all US locations, is $95,000 - $145,000. Your base salary will be determined based on location, experience, educational background, and market data.
