Staff Accountant

We are a small but mighty team of passionate, hard-working individuals who value close collaboration to ensure our clients' success.
Reporting to the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the day-do-day accounting of the multi-entity corporation. You will work hand in hand with members of the Operations Team to ensure activities are properly recorded in the Firm's financial books and records. Additionally, you will work closely with the CFO on corporate level finance initiatives including reporting and audits.
Responsibilities include:
Perform monthly account reconciliations and G/L entries
Record accounts payable and schedule vendor payments
Create and send periodic client invoices and apply received payments
Perform accurate data entry into firm accounting and workflow systems
Prepare and disseminate commission statements while acting as the Firm's main point of contact for commission related questions with both syndicate members and Firm sales representatives
Process daily ACH and wire transfers as necessary among a variety of escrow and corporate operating accounts
Record client funding and daily reconciliations for escrow accounts
Create and disseminate Dealer Manager reports for Fund clients
Assist with annual financial audits and 1099 reporting
Maintain official Firm books and records
Adhere to AML processes and procedures
Provide support to the CFO in various capacities
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated values of integrity, honesty, and discretion when working with sensitive information
Ability to function as a team player and maintain good working relationships with other teammates and clients
Proactive and process driven
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (major in accounting preferred)
Experience with accounting systems, preferably Sage/Intacct
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
1 -3 years accounting experience
