About This Opportunity
Responsibilities:
Drive the measurement, analysis, and testing initiatives supporting the fuel pricing department at 7-Eleven. In this role, you will use a unique blend of business and data analysis to transform the end-to-end reporting and analytics using agile methods. Leverage the robust data sets that will be used to optimize the business and tap into underlying metrics to support the fuel pricing analysts.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports, KPI's, metrics, and dashboards related to pricing decisions, strategies, and customers.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and key performance indicators (KPI's) to locate and correct code problems.
Work with fuel pricing team to prioritize business and information needs.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Prepare reports for business users that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
Collaborate with business users to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.
Create appropriate documentation that allows business stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.
Maintain standards for delivery, quality, and visual presentation of delivered SQL, Tableau and Excel solutions.
Knowledge Management to include push/pull siloed knowledge into explicit documentation of business KPIs and reporting methods.
Drive setup and analysis of A/B tests and provide recommendations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree, Masters Preferred
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 2+ years
YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: NA
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Strong knowledge of and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
Proximity Analysis, Customer data, financial data, Cost analysis, clustering, time series, sales forecasting.
