Job Summary:
Cleveland State University’s Accounting Department in the Monte Ahuja College of Business invites applicants for an Assistant Professor in Accounting, beginning August 18, 2025. Duties:
Teaching areas may vary, but our department needs include accounting analytics, accounting information systems, financial accounting, and auditing. Candidates are expected to conduct research suitable for publication in high-quality academic journals, develop courses as needed, and actively participate in the department, college, and university. Teaching may include both graduate and undergraduate courses, and may be in-person, hybrid, or online courses.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or related business field from an AACSB-accredited college or university. Appropriate terminal degree completed by July 1, 2025. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
• Candidates must demonstrate the ability to meet and maintain status as a Scholarly Academic (SA) under CSU AACSB standards;
• Candidates must provide evidence of high-quality teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA or related certification;
• Evidence of potential to publish research in high-quality academic journals;
• Proven effectiveness in teaching accounting;
• Effective communication skills;
• Capability in a variety of course delivery methods (in-person, hybrid, and online);
• Skills and knowledge to integrate emerging technologies into courses
• Ability to teach accounting analytics and/or systems is preferred but not required.
